The bowl or sieve bowl pessaries can be easily folded and can be inserted and removed without discomfort. Preferably mild forms genital prolapse (grade 1 to 2) are treated by the bowl pessary. The contact to the pelvic floor increases adhesion, whereby an intact pelvic floor is required.
The maximal uninterrupted period of application is 30 days. It is recommended that the patient changes the pessary herself, i.e. she may remove it in the evening and insert it in the morning. The patient should be trained about application, change or additional therapies by healthcare professionals.
The product must not be used by other patients. The pessary may be cleaned by running water without using any disinfectant.
